to advanced for both scrapbookers and card-makers alike.

School Holiday Classes: 

Join our information email list for school holiday classes for schedules dates.


All Classes include project kit, except where noted. 

Foundations 1 has a product budget allocated.

(some other materials may be required, check with staff).

You will need to bring your own tools and consumables to all classes

(except for Foundation 1, Beginner Cards 1 and Beginner Cards 2)


We accept class bookings and payment over the telephone.

FOUNDATION 1

Sunday 26 February / 29 April / 24 June

@ 10.00am - 2.00pm

Class cost $45, for a comprehensive 4 hour class.

In this packed to the brim class, you will learn all about the basics of scrapbooking,
from tools and techniques, albums to adhesives and some basic design principles.
We will get you started on your scrapbooking adventure and give you the confidence
to continue 'scrapping' in your own time.  Techniques include photo matting and
customised letter titles.  After completing your first double page layout in this class
- we'll have you addicted to this wonderful craft in no time.

ie. distant or far-off subjects are great for this or if you have zoomed in photo's most
printers have this option in the print menu to make them smaller.

Tool kit:

No tool kit is required for this class; all materials are available for purchase,
less your $5.00 product discount to use on the day.



FOUNDATION 2

Sunday 15 January

@ 2.00pm - 5.00pm

11 March / 27 May

@ 10.00am - 1.00pm

Class cost is $40 for a 3 hour class. 

This class will have you experimenting with paper, wonderful paper!  We've teamed patterned paper and punches to produce a vintage styled layout but this can be applied to any patterned paper set. We will experiment with various paper techniques such as tearing, scrunching and distressing.  We'll also look at ways to 'dress up' chipboard products such as painting, gloss and glimmer mist.  This is such a versatile product and will give you a great scope for customising your pages.

FOUNDATION 3

Sunday 26 February / 15 April / 17 June

Class cost is $35 for a 2.5 hour class. 

This class introduces you to the wonderful and varied application options of eyelets,
ribbons and the ever versatile rub-ons.  With this in mind, Cherie has created a classic,
patterned monochromatic layout that harmonise with a striking handmade accent;
using Pagemaps as inspiration.  You will see how useful the best selling electronic
machine is, the Cricut, in detailed or layered embellishments and customised titles.

Make that Page Classes

Have fun making a whole bunch of different layouts with our talented scrap Kat!  These particular classes are aimed for an intermediate+ level scrapbooker, as they are not specifically technique-based.  Note: They will only be offered TWICE in this schedule and will not be repeated after July 2012.


MAKE THAT PAGE 1

Sunday 22 Apr / 8 July

@ 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Class MTP1 

Class cost is $30 for a 2.0 hour class. 

Using the gorgeous 'Lost and Found 2 Sunshine' range, you will create two single page layouts with just the right amount of negative space and embellisments.  The yellow, black and cream colours allow you to use a wide range of photos for your pages.  You will also be introduced to the Cricut 'Elegant Edges' cartridge to create some great embellishments.

Note: To take this class, it is NOT necessary to have a Cricut machine or any experience in using one.

MAKE THAT PAGE 2

Sunday 6 May / 22 July

@ 2.00pm - 4.00pm

MTP 2

Class cost is $30 for a 2 hour class. 

Kat loves all things October Afternoon, so join this class to see how you can combine the newer and older ranges effectively to produce a wonderful page.  This single layout class is heavy on technique such as embossing, sanding, folding, stitching along with some great accessorising by the ever helpful Mr Cricut.

Note: To take this class, it is NOT necessary to have a Cricut machine or any experience in using one.

Note: Class sample has used Prima Alphabet stickers - but you may like to use something similar.

Sunday 4 March / 10 June

class MTP3 

Class cost is $35 for a 2.5 hour class. 

The classic red and blue tones and patterns of Basic Grey's 'Picadilly' range is the focus for this double-page layout. You will do some hand-stitching, inking, misting and make a hand-made flower plus some titling from the Cricut 'Sophisticated' cartridge.  

Note: To take this class, it is NOT necessary to have a Cricut machine or any experience in using one.

Sunday 19 Feb / 20 May

Class cost is $35 for a 2.5 hour class. 

Echo Park's 'Boys Life' range is perfect for scrapping young boys...it's bright and works well with a wide range of photos.  You will create two single page layouts that can be turned into a double page if desired.  The 'Mini Monsters' cricut cartridge will be the focus for this class.  

Note: To take this class, it is NOT necessary to have a Cricut machine or any experience in using one.

Basic kit plus foam tape, glossy accents, black ink, sponge, paper piercer, piercing mat, xyron 510 sticker machine + adhesive and cropadile tool if you have one.

Sunday 1 Apr / 24 June

Class cost is $35 for a 2.5 hour class. 

Basic Grey's 'Kissing Booth' is feature of this class with a fast-paced class to create four pages while working with a number of Cricut cartridges, to create embellishments and titles.

Note: To take this class, it is NOT necessary to have a Cricut machine or any experience in using one.

TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES

*** We are always on the look out for creative and enthusiastic teachers for scrapbooking and card-making classes.

Please provide a current resume and be prepared to bring samples of class ideas or examples of your work to show. ***


Classes are available mostly on Sundays and Wednesday evenings and cover topics such as:

  • Getting started with Scrapbooking or Card-making
  • General Scrapbook Techniques
  • Off-The-Page Projects: such as Mini Books or Canvases
  • Card-making/Invitation Techniques

Scrapbook Secrets also hold a fortnightly Saturday night get-together at the shop known as
Midnight Mania Crops where scrapbookers and card-makers can come along and 'do-their-thing'
from 6pm to 12am (midnight!), listen to great music, make new friends, enjoy a cup of tea/coffee/milo,
have a home-cooked meal and also have access to our superstore all night! Enjoy air-conditioned comfort
or heating depending on the season, luxurious seating and your own generous cropping space.
You may also use our Sizzix fonts during the evening, but you will need to purchase you own cutting mats to use.

Please note: Saturday night sessions are scheduled for each month, however we do require a minimum
of 10 people to remain open for the evening.
